Tiger Bay is the third studio album by English indie dance band Saint Etienne. It was released 28 February 1994 by Heavenly Records. In an interview with Record Collector, band member Bob Stanley stated that the title is a reference to the 1959 film Tiger Bay. The album is described by Bob Stanley as "an album of modern folk songs done in twentieth century styles like techno and dub".

Tiger Bay is sort of Saint Etienne's best album. I say "sort of," because it depends who you ask, but also because it depends which version you ask them about. There are different track listings and different covers and everything. Originally released in 1994, Tiger Bay still makes for the subtlest, most cinematic, and pretty much indisputably last of Saint Etienne's astounding initial burst of albums. The record's blend of pastoral folk and silvery electronics was worlds apart from Union Jack-waving contemporaries' phony Beatlemania. More recent atmospheric-folk records like Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree haven't quite been able to get there, either.

Saint Etienne set themselves a bold challenge for their third album. No more records about London; no more samples – of music they loved, or snippets of film dialogue between tracks. They would change the genes of their music, swapping the helix of Madchester meets Swinging London meets indiepop for one in which Belgian techno was spliced with folk music. Tiger Bay was intended to be nothing less than the sound of folk music reimagined for the last years of the 20th century and their brilliant reinvention of folk rock for the electronic age might not have resulted in an invitation to headline.

Saint Etienne's Tiger Bay is regarded by many as their finest album. Released in 1994, it was a groundbreaking blend of electronica with traditional folk melodies, which included the singles Pale Movie, Like A Motorway and Hug My Soul. It was arranged and conducted by the late David Whitaker, who had worked with Serge Gainsbourg, Marianne Faithfull and Lee Hazlewood. The group have never performed the album with a full orchestra before, and this 25th anniversary show with the London Contemorary orchestra will be their only performance this year.
