Nottingham based Spotlight Kid (thank Captain Beefheart for that name NOT Rainbow) were formed in 2005 by former Six By Seven drummer Chris Davis and ex Bent member Katty Heath (vocals). The result is music right out of the 90's shoegazing world. Early incarnations of the live band from 2008 featured Karl Skivington on guitar, Chris Davis on guitar and vocal duties and Kevin Bales on drums. The Crystal Dreams . does not feature Katty's vocals, as she had moved away from the UK at that point and could not commit to the band, but she does perform the songs live. Karl and Chris Moore left in early 2013, prior to the release of the band's third album to concentrate on their full-time work and personal commitments. Spotlight Kid. In 2009 Spotlight Kid released Crystal Dreams, a four track EP, on Two & One Records. The latest album, Disaster Tourist, was released in September 2011 in the UK, with an expanded release for the rest of the world in November 2012. It was recorded at Purple Studios in two days, each track played live in one take. Live, Spotlight Kid have supported Jake Bugg and played at the 2011 Glastonbury Festival
