But the "Electric Youth" album solidified Debbie Gibson's status as not just a teen idol, but a pop force. HOT IN HERE: Nelly, TLC and Flo Rida set Woodlands date. And it came out 30 years ago. Feel old yet? "Electric Youth" was released in 1989 as Gibson's follow-up to "Out of the Blue," which put her near the top of late '80s pop. The second album topped the Billboard 200 for five weeks and sold 2 million copies in the .

Following up her enormously popular debut, Out of the Blue, Debbie Gibson sought to grow from the teen fan base she had established, while not alienating those who made her a household name. The result is slickly produced teen pop, like her debut, but it's not as squeaky clean or as compulsively likable. That is not to say it's a bad album. Lost in Your Eyes" is a pretty ballad that showcases her songwriting skills, her clear voice, and her talent on the piano
