Notes

1983-85 Capitol rainbow band label with rim text inside colorband.

This particular pressing has tracks A2 and A4 in true stereo but track B1 is in fake stereo!

There were 2 80s Black Capitol rainbow band label variations. This one was pressed 1983-1985 at Capitol's Jacksonville plant as identified by a "O" in the matrix runout. Both sides stamped MASTERED BY CAPITOL. On some pressings that stamp is only on one of the sides. The label has a dull label finish and has the classic 1" diameter inner-ring notch that surrounds the spindle hole. The vinyl is a little more firm than the SRC pressings, and some pressings are translucent (hold the disc up to a bright light and you can seed through it).

(The other pressing, 1986-87, were pressed at Specialty Record Corporation (The large S surrounding R and C stamped in the run-out), also identified by smooth indent/notch approx 3/4" from edge of label and glossy finish. The SRC pressings also have more etching data on the run-out. The vinyl is a little more flexible/bendy than the Capitol pressings.)

-NO factory designator # on lower right corner.
-Issued in posterboard stock with RIAA Gold Record Seal on cover. Disc came in clear rice paper inner sleeve.

Sides were mixed and matched at the various plants that pressed these. There were some with all tracks in stereo. Some with one side even mono! One way to tell, besides playing them, is to look at the deadwax info. Winchester had the true stereo sides, indicated by a rifle etching, which also looks like a tipped over wine glass. Especially look for this symbol on side two, as most of the other plants did have side one in stereo.
