Samara Lubelski is an American singer, violinist, guitarist and bassist. She has been a member of numerous bands, including Of a Mesh, Metabolismus, Salmon Skin, the Sonora Pine, Hall of Fame, the Tower Recordings, MV & EE and the Bummer Road, and Chelsea Light Moving. Since 2003, she has released eight solo studio albums.

About Samara Lubelski. Since she began making music in the early '90s, Samara Lubelski has split her time between being a member of bands Hall of Fame, the Sonora Pine, and Tower Recordings (to name a few); a respected contributor on violin and guitar with Fiery Furnaces, MV & EE, and White Magic; a busy recording engineer; a member of avant-garde outfits; a. guitarist in Thurston Moore's band Chelsea Light Moving; and a solo artist who has crafted a series of compelling albums that delve into light psychedelia and acid folk  . Her next album was a solo violin outing on the Ultra Eczema label titled String Cycle. It came out in 2014 and was followed in 2016 by the baroque pop album The Gilded Raid, which was issued by Drawing Room.

Since she released her first solo record in 2014, Samara Lubelski has made a string of under-the-radar gems that mix darkly psychedelic sonic textures with gentle melodies, knotty guitars, and Lubelski's mystical lyrics and tender whisper of a voice. As a former member of Tower Recordings and the Sonora Pine, as well as a collaborator with Thurston Moore, Lubelski has been part of a lot of interesting albums, but her solo work is where she really shines.

Samara Lubelski and Bill Nace are both veterans of the American sub-underground. Between them they have many projects under many names on many labels. Most recently, however, the two have been focused on string-based duo aktion, Samara in cahoots with Marcia Bassett, and Bill with Kim Gordon in Body/Head. On this album Bill and Samara create a hybrid between these approaches, offering textual interactions that blaze like fire. On the five tracks of their eponymous LP, Samara's violin creates a base of long form string distention, against which Bill's amp-shudder creates event surges that fill your brain with frozen images of walls caught in mid-collapse, and continents sinking into a sea.
