The album name and cover is a parody of Deep Purple's In Rock. The cover depicts a rock sculpture inspired by Mount Rushmore in which Alvin replaces Theodore Roosevelt while Simon and Theodore are seen on the ground.

Having been exposed to the Chipmunks throughout most of my youth I am quite aware of how they are supposed to sound. I am rather disappointed with this album because the quality of the singing is very much lacking and it's very hard to make sense out of anything they sing. Unless you already have the lyrics to all of these songs memorized, you likely won't understand anything they say. The band is forgettable but at least they play the songs well enough
