Act IV: Rebirth In Reprise is the sixth studio album by American rock band The Dear Hunter, and was released on September 4, 2015 through Equal Vision Records. The album is the fourth part in a six-act story. The story follows the conclusion of Act III: Life and Death, in which the protagonist assumes the identity of his deceased half-brother after the resolution of the First World War.

There is a slight dull roar in the quiet gaps at the start/end of each side, so it's not the quietest pressing ever, but it does the album justice. 2018년 4월 1일. 신고. 다음 참조: Act IV: Rebirth In Reprise, 2xLP, Album, Swa, EVR 293. Good quality pressing. I wasn't a fan of the vinyl color; it's kind of a slightly transparent army green, but I wanted to get at least one Dear Hunter album on vinyl. Overall a great album in the series and good packaging/quality.

Act III was a little worrisome, even though it was an excellent album, songs were short and not as developed, but Act IV comes back in all the former glory. Act III had a lot of story line to cover, so a lot had to packed in there, yet even then they did a great job and that album should not be ignored. In Act IV, all of the emotion and intensity has not been compromised. Casey's voice is still amazing and the music and production is amazing as always. Prog is still in the mix too, songs are not predictable and always rich in change, originality and quality.

The first third of the album brings us back to the story’s mainland in a stream of consciousness styling. The Old Haunt asserts its dominance early with drummer Nick Crescenzo’s snare roll and the band is off to the races. It maintains it’s abrasion before weaving in more melody in the chorus, which then becomes a mainstay as the track seamlessly transitions to a calm before unleashing a fury to ride out on. Going from that through the more ballad rock single Waves is refreshing like a feeling of the ocean’s breeze that the track portrays. The potential of piano in The Dear Hunter’s sound was truly proven with 2013’s Migrant, and it takes center stage again in Remembered. It’s here where Crescenzo’s vocals shine as a complementing layer to the piano and majestic orchestration rather than being in the front of the mix, in what proves to be one of the record’s more intricately arranged tracks.

Act IV is epic in scope and absolutely gorgeous, their most accomplished thus far in the series. More than ever, the story and the songs are completely entwined.

For the most part, Act IV has The Dear Hunter returning to their original sound. Casey Crescenzo, as usual, does a wonderful job as his voices carries so much emotion throughout while the rest of the band gives the record personality. Both have their moments of glory with passion from the former and orchestrations and instrumentations of the latter combining to create beautiful melodies and choruses that are catchy and memorable. The best example of this is the album’s nine-minute track, ‘A Night on the Town’. With Casey’s excellent performance and the beautiful melodies set by the instrumentation, many listeners are going to be satisfied with the band’s return-to-form sound.
