Moorish Delta 7 is one of the . 's most influential hip hop acts of the last 10 years. The group had its beginnings in the early 90's performing on local radio shows with DJ Kingston. Along with fellow Birmingham act MSI Asylum, Moorish delta 7 galvanised the Birmingham music scene both acts producing groundbreaking music videos which acclaimed rotation on the major networks in an era where independent music rarely received major airplay. After this release they did more extensive touring for 2 years having another hiatus between 2004-2006. Their second album 'Life in the City' (2006) had some good moments but was not as consistent as their eelier work. In 2008 they began working on projects which combine different styles of music with hip hop including folk, notably working artist Seth Lakeman. Once again showing the groundbreaking nature of this group.
