Muslimgauze was the main musical project of Bryn Jones (17 June 1961 – 14 January 1999), a British ethnic electronica and experimental musician who was influenced by conflicts and history in the Muslim world, often with an emphasis on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.

A slightly odd release even for Muslimgauze, Hamas Arc consists of two tracks from the then just-released Vote Hezbollah album and five from the otherwise unreleased Shekel of Israeli Occupation. To top it all off, purchase of Arc provided a coupon to send in, along with a DAT, to get a copy of yet another release, Satyajit Eye. All this said, the album itself is a not-bad précis of Muslimgauze in 1993; "Farsi" and "Zindabad" from Hezbollah are just as fine here as they were on the original, while the five new tracks include some definite winners. The first "Jerusalem.

Although rich in style and atmosphere, I can't help but feel that at the end of the day this is a guy beating repeatedly on a drum again and again and again and... Some of the tracks just seem to go on and on forever without really getting anywhere. "Jerusalem Knife" for example is slow to start and then when the fast drums finally kick in they just stay the same throughout the length of the track. I do like this release, but it being only seven tracks --out of which there are only five songs-- I do feel a little bit ripped off. Still, it does get repeated playing from time to time, especially the fantastic "Khan Younis" and the above mentioned "Jerusalem Knife".
