Description

Опубликовано: 31 мая 2013 г. Public Enemy Yo Bum Rush The Show.

Yo! Bum Rush the Show is the debut album by American hip hop group Public Enemy. It was recorded at Spectrum City Studios in Hempstead, New York, and released on February 10, 1987, by Def Jam Recordings and Columbia Records. The album became one of the fastest-selling hip hop records, but was controversial among radio stations and critics, in part because of lead rapper Chuck D's black nationalist politics. It has since been regarded as one of the genre's best and most influential albums.

Produced by Bomb Squad. Album Yo! Bum Rush The Show. Yo! Bum Rush The Show Lyrics. I am taking no prisoners, taking no shorts Breakin' with the metal of a couple of forts While we're hearin' that boom supplement the mix We're gonna rush 'em like the Bears in the 46 Homeboys I don't know but they're part of the pack In the plan against the man, bum rush attack For the suckers. at the door, if you're up and around For the suckers at the door, we're gonna knock you back down. Cold bum rushin' doors like at first it's something But all we realize that the show ain't nothin' For the stunts and the blunts, whole world inside The reason that the mighty used force supplied No comp, we'll stomp all in our way Gave me static so I won't pay It might be a trick that you. don't like Comin' in the side door then grabbin' the mike.

The group's logo, a silhouette of a black man in a rifle's crosshairs, is debuted on the album's cover. Yo! Bum Rush the Show features a sample-heavy sound by production team The Bomb Squad. Yo! Bum Rush the Show is the debut album by American hip hop group Public Enemy, released in 1987 on Def Jam Recordings. The group's logo, a silhouette of a black man in a rifle's crosshairs, makes it debut on the album's cover. Yo! Bum Rush the Show features a sample-heavy sound by production team The Bomb Squad, a sound that Public Enemy would continue to utilise for several of their following albums.

Public Enemy's gripping first album, Yo! Bum Rush the Show, manages to fill both categories: it's an expert, fully realized record of extraordinary power, but it pales in comparison with what came merely a year later. This is very much a Rick Rubin-directed production, kicking heavy guitars toward the front, honing the loops, rhythms, and samples into a roar with as much in common with rock as rap. The Bomb Squad are apparent, but they're in nascent stage - certain sounds and ideas that would later become trademarks bubble underneath the surface

Wel Wel
It's hard to believe that there are only 4 of these for sale in the US as of the date of this post. There are more available overseas for this US release than in the continental United States. This is not uncommon for 80's hip-hop releases on vinyl and this post is a statement concerning all Golden Age, not just this P.E. release. Can anyone provide any insight as to why? It is my understanding that Discogs is THE collector's site for buying and selling vinyl in the world. I say this because if it's not on here, then it's probably nowhere else to be found (in bulk, anyway). I have seen a few of these on Ebay but again, same issue, the majority (of the OG pressings) are outside of the country in which they were released 30+ years ago. Where are they??!! Destroyed? or just being loved, enjoyed and archived.....like my copy. I can only hope it is the latter. Happy hunting and feel free to share any info that can help us all understand the distribution of 80's hip-hop throughout the US/world.
Runeterror Runeterror
This Canadian pressing is punchier than the USA 1st press. US press has tighter grooves, look at the runout area, indicating using more real estate for sound quality enhancement.
Thorgahuginn Thorgahuginn
This sounds terribly dated now, skip this one and go straight for a nation of millions.
Gold as Heart Gold as Heart
What a ridiclous comment, "skip this one and go straight for a nation of millions"? Why have you only got 60 minutes to live?
Ubrise Ubrise
"we got some non-believers out there"still a classic for me
Sermak Light Sermak Light
Disagree. I always enjoyed it more than Nation, though I recognize it was the better produced album.

This pressing sounds incredible, glad I picked it up. Well done!

That's the record what made hiphop interresting. A groundbreaker.

Does anyone know if any of the vinyl reissues have improved sound quality?
