Small World is the fifth album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 1988. It was also their last album release on Chrysalis Records in the USA. Although it reached the top 20 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, the album did not sell as well as the band's previous albums, Sports and Fore!. However, Lewis himself stated in a Behind the Music interview that the recording process for Small World had the most favorable working conditions. Huey Lewis and the News.

After a period of changing personnel and different names, Huey Lewis and the News emerged in 1980 with a settled line-up of Chris Hayes (guitar), Sean Hopper (keys), Bill Gibson (drums), Johnny Colla (saxophone/guitar), Mario Cipollina (bass) and a workmanlike, self-titled debut album which made no chart impression whatsoever.

The band got its start when singer and harmonica player Huey Lewis and keyboardist Sean Hopper hooked up with a Bay Area jazz-funk band called Clover. After Fore! the band declined in stature, and the lineup changed substantially. They recorded the theme song to the 2008 movie Pineapple Express. Popular Huey Lewis and the News songs.
