Homer was the son of Thurman Hall Rodeheaver and Frances C. Armstrong. He began his career touring with the Billy Sunday evangelism campaign in the early 20th Century. Afterward, he helped found the Rodeheaver-Ackley Company, a Gospel music publisher which later became the Rodeheaver Hall-Mack Company. He also founded Rainbow Records, which specialized in Gospel music. He was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2003.
