Description
Osibisa made its greatest inroads into British and American popularity in the early '70s. By the time of 1974's Osibirock, the band was in transition, moving from one record label to another (this disc was released in the . following a long stint on Decca) as musical tastes changed.
Osibisa is the self-titled debut album by British Afro-pop band Osibisa released in 1971 by MCA. Reissued in 2004 in a two-CD pack together with Woyaya by BGO Records. Teddy Osei – tenor saxophone, flute, African drums, percussion, vocals. Sol Amarfio – drums, percussion, vocals. Mac Tontoh – trumpet, flugelhorn, kabasa, percussion, vocals. Spartacus R (Roy Bedeau) – bass guitar, assorted percussion. Wendell Richardson – lead guitar, lead vocals. Robert Bailey – organ, piano, timbales, percussion, vocals.

All songs arranged, performed and composed by Osibisa. Teddy Osei – tenor and soprano saxophones, flute, percussion, vocals. Mac Tontoh – trumpet, flugelhorn, percussion. Sol Amarfio – drums, percussion. Kofi Ayivor - congas, percussion. Jean-Karl Dikoto Mandengue – bass guitar, percussion.
