Work It Out is a one-off single by Q-Tip, released August 21, 2007. It was either intended for Q-Tip’s shelved album Live at the Renaissance (as it can’t be found on the tracklisting for the shelved album Open that leaked online) or it was cut from the tracklisting of The Renaissance when it was officially released the next year. The song itself, though upbeat and funky, is an indictment of the music industry. The critique is well deserved after all that Q-Tip went through since Amplified such as having three albums shelved, including the critically acclaimed Kamaal/The Abstract

Work It Out is the eighth studio album by American alternative rock band Caroline's Spine. The album's second track, "The Light Inside," served as the album's lead single in late 2008. In 2008, Newquist recorded Work It Out in Austin, Texas and Scottsdale, Arizona. Newquist serves as the only original band member featured on the album and worked with Nick DiDia to create the "melodic train wreck.
