Runaway" was a staple in live performances even before Hybrid Theory, and was omitted in 2006 until the first leg of the Living Things Tour in 2012.

Basically, it describes what someone can feel when he or she feels that is tortured by society and simpley decides to scape. The song didn’t recieved good critics because some people consider it to be a song written for teenagers, and, as many can notice, it has a similar structure to Crawling with very short raps from Mike.
