Anthony Moore (also known as Anthony More) (born 13 August 1948) is a British experimental music composer, performer and producer. He was a founding member of the band Slapp Happy, worked with Henry Cow and has made a number of solo albums, including Flying Doesn't Help (1979) and World Service (1981).

Slapp Happy comprised Dagmar, a German vocalist who would later win great acclaim for interpretations of Brecht (and sign my copy of this abum), Peter Blegvad, American born but raised and educated in England, played guitar and wrote most of the lyrics and would later contribute the unique strip cartoon Leviathan to the Independent, and Anthony Moore, English pianist who wrote. As Slapp Happy saw Henry Cow playing live and were being deeply impressed, this album can be seen as the turning point as well as their single Europe. While it still has a few weird songs (well Dagmar's voice makes them automatically off-beat) that can remind you of their previous album, the help of Henry Cow both on production but also in playing the music.

Anthony Moore and Peter Blegvad took the time to have a very funny talk. The interview was done at Les Ateleirs Claus, the day before their concert. Here´s a great interview with Anthony and Peter that they did for Red Bull Music Academy a few weeks ago. Enjoy! RBMA Radio Live Week-End Cologne: Slapp Happy. Ahead of their reunion gig with Faust, avant-pop pioneers Anthony Moore and Peter Blegvad came by our HQ for a chat about their long career.

One of the great lost singles of the 1970's. Although with tongue firmly in cheek, the lyrics - combined with the stunning arrangement - manage to convey such a feeling of imminent loss and tragedy that it becomes a genuinely moving piece of music.
