His discovery of Norwegian folklore and peasant dances in 1863 made him an inexhaustible militant of national musical art all his life. He will compose his most famous works in the orchestral field, such as the Piano Concerto in A minor and Peer Gynt.

Edvard Hagerup Grieg (Norwegian pronunciation: ; 15 June 1843 – 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide.
Grieg once explained: ‘The traditional way of life of the Norwegian people, together with Norway's legends, Norway’s history, Norway’s natural scenery, stamped itself on my creative imagination from my earliest years.
