Howdy! is the seventh album by Scottish alternative rock band Teenage Fanclub, released in 2000, and the band's only album with a major sublabel. Norman Blake - Vocals, guitar. It would be easy - and understandable to a certain degree - if die-hard Fanclub fans felt letdown with the band flying in a stylistic holding pattern, though the influences on this one tend to point toward the hushed side of the Hollies more than the previous indebtedness to the Byrds and Big Star. Those feeling robbed should look at it this way: Just how many bands can last over a decade and continue to make completely non-cynical, non-cloying pop as well as Teenage Fanclub? Not many.

Here is the tenth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Teenage Fanclub, released on 9 September 2016 on the band's own PeMa label in Europe and on Merge Records in North America. It was the band's final album to feature co-founder Gerard Love, who left the band in November 2018.

If Teenage Fanclub once seemed like a ceaseless rush of endorphins, their new sound was a small plane taking off: It seemed to glide on its own, and, before you knew it, was airborne. Don’t Look Back, a highlight from Grand Prix, finds Love admitting there’s little he can say to change someone’s mood; with Blake and McGinley’s harmonies aiding him through the final, triumphant chorus, though, he becomes a hero-stealing cars, lighting up the city. After 2000’s Howdy!, an album of quiet triumphs-the off-kilter rhythm of Dumb Dumb Dumb, Cul De Sac ’s otherworldly drift-Teenage Fanclub started taking longer between records, retreating even further from the spotlight. They now seemed more willing to put the band on hold to gather new energy from collaborations and side projects.
