On their Nipp Guitar album, Z-Rock Hawaii, you get an edgy, noise funk, aggressive stomp-fest of heavy guitar music. This is part of the Nipp Guitar Heavy series of releases for waking up the neighbors. Featuring blatantly sexual lyrics; deep, harsh rhythms; and a frantic cover of "Bad to the Bone," Z-Rock Hawaii is the best disc in the series.

Z-Rock Hawaii was released in 1996 by Gene Ween and Dean Ween of the band Ween, and the Japanese artists Yamantaka Eye, Seiichi Yamamoto, Yoshimi P-We, and Yoshikawa Toyohito of Boredoms. In 1994, during the recording of Chocolate & Cheese, Gene Ween, Dean Ween and Claude Coleman Jr. of Ween collaborated with Japanese noise rock band Boredoms on a project released two years later as Z-Rock Hawaii.

Most of the vocals are shrieking at unlistenable volume and the lyrics are almost entirely incoherent. While most listeners will find this album to be unbearable, those that stick through it will find that it is a unique collaboration from a pair of excellent bands. Fans of the Boredoms or Ween should definitely give these a listen, everyone else should approach this.

Hawaii is the third studio album by the Anglo-Irish avant-pop band the High Llamas, released on 25 March 1996 on the band's Alpaca Park label. The arrangements of Hawaii incorporate more electronic sounds than its predecessor Gideon Gaye (1994), while its lyrics loosely address themes of nomadism, nostalgia, film and musical theatre, and the effects of colonialism. The record peaked at 62 on the UK Albums Chart for a one-week stay
