Still Life is the fourth studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. The album was produced and engineered by Opeth alongside Fredrik Nordström, and released on 18 October 1999 through Peaceville Records. It was the first Opeth album to be released through Peaceville, following their departure from Candlelight and Century Black after the release of My Arms, Your Hearse, and the first album to feature Martin Mendez.

Born on July 17th 1962, Cem Nasuhoglu began his musical training at the Contemporary Music Center (Cagdas MUzik Merkezi) in Istanbul while attending Timur Selcuk's polyphonic Turkish music workshop and studied jazz guitar and harmony with TRT (Turkish Radio and Television) jazz orchestra player Kamil Ozler.

Still Life's one-and-only studio album emerged in 1971 on the famous Vertgo Label and pretty much sunk without trace before those good old folks at Germany's reissue specialists Repertoire Records re-released the album in deluxe, mini-vinyl-replica format at the front-end of the 21st century. An organ-dominated slice of straight-ahead symphonic prog, 'Still Life' is an enjoyable yet hardly essential album, featuring some terrific artwork(a human skull amidst a flurry of pink rose petals) and at least one excellent track in the shape of the slightly hysterical 'October.
