Regina Smendzianka (1924-2011) Polish pianist. Regina Smendzianka, an apprentice of Zbigniew Drzewiecki, was a wonderful pianist. She had a special relationship with the works of Chopin which she played with grace and charm, and with power when required. Her technique was as formidable as it was unobtrusive. And in her playing, the glorious Polish tradition which produced so many magnificent pianists lived into the 21st century. The Piano Concerto No. 21, is a piano concerto composed by Frédéric Chopin in 1829. Chopin wrote the piece before he had finished his formal education, at around 20 years of age. It was first performed on 17 March 1830, in Warsaw, Poland, with the composer as soloist. It was the second of his piano concertos to be published (after the Piano Concerto No. 1), and so was designated as "No. 2", even though it was written first.

They were published after his death, in 1855, as no. 3 of Op. 72 (a posthumous release which also included a nocturne and a funeral march). The Ecoissaises are lively contradances, inspired in the tradition of the Scottish dances that were popular in the continent.
