Missing Presumed Dead were an Ealing, UK based post-punk band formed by guitarist Mikel Ikon (aka Michael Lee), who was a founding member of the Transmitters. In their first incarnation, Missing Presumed Dead's singer was Peter Paul Hartnett, the drummer was Jim Chase (also of the Transmitters), bass was Ian 'Mog' Hawkridge, lead guitar was Vince Cutcliffe and Dave Baby on saxophone.

Loverboy bassist Scott Smith is missing at sea and presumed dead, after being swept off his thirty-seven-foot sailboat by a twenty-five-foot wave on Nov. 30 approximately four miles off of San Francisco’s Ocean Beach. The forty-five-year-old Smith was en route from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Mexico. Two of Smith’s friends were also aboard but were unharmed, while Smith’s girlfriend was later treated for hypothermia

Missing, Presumed Death is a quest that features Death, who has gone missing, and the Menaphite god of the dead, Icthlarin, who is attempting to take over his role until he is found. The quest starts in Silvarea, west of Paterdomus, where some monks have been murdered, their souls unable to pass on due to Death's disappearance. It also involves the Mahjarrat Sliske, revealing how he obtained the Staff of Armadyl from the Dragonkin prior to the assassination of Guthix.
