Pink Floyd were excited to be able to develop new material on the road but were horrified to learn of a bootleg album that was released containing a complete performance of the piece recorded in February of 1972 at the Rainbow Theatre. The bootleg was issued a mere six weeks after the concert, about a full year prior to an official release. Professionally packaged, the unit reportedly sold in excess of 100,000 copies, many thinking it was the real thing

Definitely the best Pink Floyd album. That dark side of the moon was voted best album. 17 Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd. This is a hits album, shouldn't be on this list. A decent album of great Pink Floyd songs. I don't count this one as necessarily their BEST album only because only studio albums should really qualify for that and live albums are kind of unfair in how good they are since the band plays mostly just their best songs from multiple albums, giving the album an unfair advantage. However, I felt like I had to take the time (pun intended-I'm referencing the song Time) to say how great this album is. Professionally packaged, the unit reportedly sold in excess of 100,000 copies, many thinking it was the real thing. It would make a superb live double CD. Tour 72 is arguably PF’s most important and sought after bootleg, and once again our good friend has come up with the best of the best! Simon.

The Wall Tour was a concert tour by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd throughout 1980–1981 in support of their concept album The Wall. The tour was relatively small compared to previous tours for a major release, with only 31 shows in total. The tour was notable for its extensive use of stage theatrics, most notably a giant wall constructed across the stage to convey the sense of alienation present in both the album, and Roger Waters' personal feelings at the time.
