For the most part, the lyrics of Debut are concerned with love. The love themes range from "flesh-and-blood passion" for another person to the love of life itself. According to i-D, with a couple of exceptions, the songs of Debut fell into two types: "those where Björk addressed the listener as someone in pain and told them fireworks.
Debut is the second studio album, and first major-label release by Björk, released on July 5, 1993. This version was released in the United Kingdom in July 1993.
Debut Live is a live album by Icelandic singer Björk. While featuring live versions of songs from Debut, Debut Live does not feature the songs as performed during the Debut Tour from 1993-1994. Instead the majority of the CD comes from an acoustic performance of Debut at MTV Unplugged. Originally released in the 5 disc Live Box set in 2003, Debut Live was later released separately on 1 June 2004 by One Little Indian records.

Björk is the only studio album by Icelandic singer Björk Guðmundsdóttir as a child singer, released on 18 December 1977 by Fálkinn. In 1976, Björk appeared on Icelandic radio singing "I Love to Love" through the music school she attended, which led her to a record deal and the release, with the help of stepfather Sævar, of her first solo album in 1977.
