Album, 2007, Undead Records. 1. Out the Way (Undead).
Slush is the 1997 debut album by OP8, a band formed from Lisa Germano, Howe Gelb of Giant Sand, and Joey Burns and John Convertino of Calexico and Giant Sand. The album was released on Thirsty Ear and features covers of "Sand" by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood as well as "Round and Round" by Neil Young. Its generally mainstream, jazz-inflected songwriting is at times counterbalanced by odd sonic details, including detuned melodic fragments and synthetic noises.

In a notable departure from previous Blues Traveler releases, the album includes a spoken word piece featuring Bruce Willis. This album marked the band's return to Universal Music Group, which owns their previous label A&M Records, and also their current label, Verve Forecast Records (along with the catalog of Sanctuary Records, another label the band was on at one point).
Tracks like the opener Get the Losers Out and Come Along and Thrill Us contain gentle lilting melodies, almost sardonic lyrics and really memorable hooks.
