This is a list of the best-selling albums of the 21st century, based on IFPI certification and Nielsen SoundScan sales tracking. The criteria are that the album must have been published (including self-publishing by the artist), and the album must have shipped at least 10 million units starting from January 1, 2001. From fantastical renderings of microscopic creatures to a view of a jellyfish that is similar to an architectural blueprint, Haeckel’s work has left a lasting legacy both in the scientific and artistic worlds. Contemporary artists like Rogan Brown continue to be influenced by his detailed renderings even today.

For my workflow I mostly use commercial software such as the Adobe Creative Suite (for 2D images: Illustrator). For 3D (such as protein structures) I recommend Maxon Cinema 4D. It is very powerful, yet more intuitive to use than most other 3D packages. Thought best is illustrator but flash is easy to handle. Though powerpoint is also handy. Corel Draw graphic suite satisfies my need for vector graphic and images, Origin PRO for graphs.
