dEUS Album: Pocket Revolution.

dEUS' music isn't godly, but in the second half of the 90s they released three very good albums that weren't easily pigeonholed. Six years later, Pocket Revolution continues that evolution with a sharp, direct attack that undoubtedly has more commercial potential than anything they've released before

Pocket Revolution ‎(2xCD, Album, Sli). Universal Music Belgium. Pocket Revolution, Pocket Revolution Burnt - The Jagz Kooner Excursions ‎(2xCD, Album, Jew).

Deus' debut album Worst Case Scenario drew influences from Frank Zappa, Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart and was released on 16 September 1994 to critical acclaim. After finishing their Pocket Revolution tour, the band began rehearsals for the writing and recording process of their next album. In 2007 Deus built their own studio to continue work on their next album, Vantage Point, which was released in April 2008.

Pocket Revolution sounds to me as the weakest album of dEUS. Don't understand me wrong: it is a good one, but dEUS sounds more creative in albums like 'Worst Case Scenario' and 'In A Bar, Under The Sea'. D. avid January 22nd 2006. I love the powerful building up of the album opener bad timing. Include me out and pocket revolution are also excellent songs. Hopefuly we wont have to wait as long for their next album. KoraX August 17th 2006.

Pocket Revolution is the fourth studio album by dEUS, released in 2005. The cover art is based on The Von Neumann-Machine, a story from Don Lawrence's Storm series of graphic novels. Pocket Revolution was the first dEUS studio album to be released in six years, since The Ideal Crash in 1999. The band featuring Craig Ward and Danny Mommens disintegrated during its recording. Craig Ward who was supposed to produce the record left the band in August 2004, soon followed by Danny Mommens.

After a three year programmed break to pursue other projects of just enjoying life, dEUS came back with this album with a fairly revamped line-up. But if this fact is to scare you a bit on top of the "iffy" title, please be reassured that you will find the usual dEUS sound (no real revolution in their musical horizons anyway), but it will not be a carbon copy either. Generally, I find this album drenched with the spirit and influence from kraut rock. Especially Can comes to mind. By the time of Pocket Revolution, dEUS had shed off some of their earlier excesses and concentrated on the songs instead. To single out a few songs I would of course need to start with Bad Timing.
