In this bass-less line-up Labasheeda recorded a 10 /CD-EP, titled A Few of a Population (2009). The band turned into a four-piece when Thanos Fiotadis (bass) and DyanRamekers (drums) became the new rhythm section. Other countries where Labasheeda has played over the years are the UK, Germany, and Canada, among others. The band, now a bass-less trio again, released their new full-length CastfatShadows and a split 7" with Wavezero in April 2012.

Labasheeda was formed in 2004 by singer/guitarist Saskia van der Giessen, an their are based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Labasheeda blends poppy melodies with bursts of noise and distorted violin. Labasheeda is known for working with non-standard pop structures, changing instruments such as baritone guitar, electric violin and working with sound within their songs.

Labasheeda (Irish: Leaba Shíoda) is a village in the parish of Kilmurry McMahon in County Clare, Ireland. The name Leaba Shíoda means 'Bed of Silk'. The village is set on a peninsula on the banks of the Shannon estuary. The village lies in an indentation of the Shannon Estuary. It is in the civil parish of Killofin in the barony of Clonderalaw. Killofin today is part of the Catholic parish of Kilmurry McMahon, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Killaloe. The church of St. Ciarán's is in Labasheeda.
