Jose Luis Feliciano Vega, better known as Cheo Feliciano (born July 3, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico), is a composer and singer of salsa and bolero music. Feliciano was raised and educated in the city of Ponce, which is located in the southern part of Puerto Rico. As a child, he was nicknamed "Cheo" by his family - a name which means Jose and is a term normally only used by close friends and family.

Cheo Feliciano, considered one of the most powerful voices of salsa, was characterized by his excellence and his ability to interpret various musical styles. His first steps onto the music scene were at the Juan Morel Campos School in his native Puerto Rico, where he learned solfeggio and basic music technique. Cheo Feliciano, considerado una de la voces más privilegiadas en el panorama salsero, se caracterizó por su excelente calidad y capacidad para interpretar los géneros más diversos. Sus primeros pasos en el ambiente musical los forjó en la Escuela de Juan Morel Campos en su natal Puerto Rico, donde aprendió solfeo y las técnicas básicas inherentes a la música.
