Kenny Rogers is the second studio album by Kenny Rogers from United Artists Records, released worldwide in 1977. The album marked his first major solo success following the minor success of Love Lifted Me in 1976. The album produced two singles. The first single, 1976's "Laura (What He's Got That I Ain't Got?)", peaked at This song was originally a country hit for Leon Ashley in 1967.

About Kenny Rogers: Kenny Rogers began recording in the late 1950s, notching a local hit in the Houston, TX market with "That Crazy Feeling" that resulted in a national TV appearance on "American Bandstand. The album from which the song was pulled, Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits, was certified Diamond for sales of over ten million units. In the 1980s, he stayed on top of the charts with hits like "I Don't Need You," "We've Got Tonight," and "Morning Desire," and sang on the GRAMMY® winning USA For Africa charity single, "We Are The World," joined by an unprecedented number of music legends. In 1977, Kenny gained stardom with the single "Lucille", which climbed to the top of the country charts (both in the . and Canada) and placing him squarely on the . Hot 100 in the position. It also blew open his solo career in the UK, reaching there.
