From the first time it was played, Frankie Knuckles' Classic Mix of "The Pressure" has remained one of the true NYC dancefloor classics.

Classic vocal house track, with a great set of House / Garage style remixes from C.J. Mackintosh.Plenty of mixes to chose from across a number of releases.Still sounds great today - pure class.

This edition is sadly mislabeled/misprinted. A2 is not the UBP Classic Club Mix but the Jazz-N-Groove Dub #2.

An excellent set of CJ Mackintosh remixes of The Pressure Pt.1, that was originally released in 1991. This re-release from 1992, which is quite rare to find in CD format also featured the (classic club version) w/o the intro. Remixed by Frankie Knuckles with a grand piano performance by Terry Burrus. Ann Nesby with the Sounds Of Blackness sing their hearts out on this release. Praise Hallelujah!

My parents and my brother have always teased about having this release in my collection. They see the name "Sounds of Blackness" and assume that this is what my father calls "Yo, baby, yo, baby" music. You can deduce what he means. Of course, I know better and say "To each his own." In this case, to each His own (the capitalization is right). This nu-gospel anthem should relieve the stress of your back in no time. Having the Godfather Frankie provide some of his best work ever certainly helps out the cause. His Classic 12" Mix is an undisputed triumph of dance music, thanks to great assists by Tomiie and Burrus. But purists already know this and know this well. Time to give this another listen and hear why. The Lord does work in mysterious ways.

The Frankie Knuckles classic mix cannot be beat, but if you're thinking of getting this for the acappella, take note that it's only the first two verses of the song - in other words you don't get Ann Nesby's amazing, soaring bridge ("we all have our burdens to carry..."). Shame.

The Sounds of Blackness are legends for anybody listening to quality House music in the early 90s. They are a huge Black Gospel group that have been remixed by countless House music legends including Frankie Knuckles and David Morales. Their music has lit up dancefloors throughout the underground House scene in the early 90s. 'The Pressure' for me is their masterpiece and has the most incredible lyrics ever to grace a House music record. They are so incredibly beautiful and poignant, and sung with such passion and harmony that they can bring tears to a man's eyes. Stunning life affirming House music of the very highest order.

Listening to this record gives u a insight from where the "real" House comes from: the black community in the USA. This classic remix provided by Frankie Knuckles is one of his best ever in my humble opinion. This one is absolutely incredible: the slow & long dramatic intro with only the grand piano playing and Ann Nesby providing the vocals, the beats which are oh so funky & groovin' and the total structure of the remix makes it so. This all combined with a really strong song (original production provided by Jam & Lewis) and those heaven-sent gospel-vocals makes me aware that House is a spiritual thing. Timeless masterpiece of REAL music: 10 outta 10.

Absolutely right!I'll never forget the first time I heard it on MTV!!- chills all along my body.I just listened to it again, and I must confess - it still has that effect on me!It's a perfect marriage of several fronts;A good song - by Gary Hines [The Choir leader].A great production - by Jimmy jam & Terry Lewis.A great Remix - by Frankie Knuckles (as you also add - in my opinion hasn't done so much better stuff...)It's realy great.P.S.This only concerns the "famous" version;"The Pressure (Pt. 1) (Classic 12" Mix With Vocal Intro)", and the same but modified version;"The Pressure (Pt. 1) (Sound Factory Mix)".The other versions are not by far as good!
