The Rolling Stones’ next album, Beggars’ Banquet, took the implications of Satanic Majesties even further, with its hypnotic and tribal single, Sympathy For the Devil. Jagger sang his classic first-person narrative of Satan’s presence at crucial points in history including the crucifixion of Christ, the Russian Revolution, the Nazi Blitzkrieg and even the assassinations of John F. and Robert F. Kennedy, with the lyrics retouched to reflect the latter’s death on June 5. It was a compelling song that, in a violent and tumultuous year, further stirred up an already fraught cultural mood. Yet, as Marianne Faithfull pointed out, Jagger’s devilish act was completely affected.

The Cult is the sixth studio album from English rock band, The Cult. It was released in October, 1994 on Beggars Banquet Records and it is also the band's last album on Sire Records in the USA. It is also commonly referred to as the "Black Sheep" record, due to the image of a Manx Loaghtan black sheep on the front cover

With influences from various aspects of occult and new age spirituality, as well as Scientology, and the work of Alfred Adler (I think I also see the influence, direct or indirect, of American psychologist George Kelly) the Process held that individual psychology, as well as global events could be seen in terms of the interplay and conflict between four gods: Christ, Jehovah, Satan. The title does not reflect Bainbridge's analysis of the cult, but seems to have been selected by the publisher to increase sales. A great follow-up to this book is "Love, Sex, Fear, Death: The Inside Story of The Process Church of the Final Judgment" a much more recent book, which offers further details about the dissolution of the group and the activities of those involved in it.
