It all swings nicely, even if the solos -other than those of the leader - are not particularly memorable. This album collects twelve tracks, most of which are reissues from LPs. None of the players are well known, though the various groups were clearly rehearsed diligently. Many of the tunes have their roots in Surinam, and are interesting for their calypso feel. Snijders is a solid flautist who easily runs through the simple chord changes without difficulty. His solo "O Africa," which closes the album is a fascinatingly original piece, with flute and voice chiming simultaneously
