In 1968, Don D. Robey had signed Carlton to the Back Beat Record label, of which Robey had started in 1957. Shortly after signing with the label, Carlton relocated to Houston, Texas, to be closer to his new label. The track peaked at number 34 in the UK Singles Chart. Carlton's subsequent album, Carl Carlton, went gold in 1981 Carlton released several more albums in the 1980s but had only a few minor R&B hits. After 1985's Private Property, he did not release another album until 1994's Main Event, which also failed to chart. "46 Drums - 1 Guitar" Little Carl Carlton. I don’t now because My music tastes have expanded over the past few years but every time I do listen to them it feels like home. Close second is Audioslave and close 3rd is Soundgarden. Sounds to fit any mood, thoughtful lyrics, perfect band chemistry, excellent guitar solos.

The lead single for Carlton’s debut album Be Not Nobody, A Thousand Miles has solidified itself over the years as an Internet sensation that cross through all forms of media. Upon its release in 2002, it saw much success on the Billboard charts, becoming the song on the Adult Contemporary charts and making all the way to on the Hot 100 chart. Vanessa Carlton followed her pianist mother’s path with the harmonic homerun ‘A Thousand Miles,’ a debut single that catapulted the then-21-year-old onto the mainstream’s radar. The track’s cameo in the (otherwise problematic) Wayans Brothers' 2004 film White Chicks says it all: this ll-orchestral banger is iconic.

Ooooh Babe Don't leave me now Don't say it's the end of the road Remember the flowers I sent I need you Babe To put through the shredder in front of my friends Ooooh Babe Don't leave me now How could you go ? When you know how I need you, need you, need you To beat to a pulp on a Saturday night Ooooh Babe Don't leave me now How could you treat me this way ?. .All alone, or in twos The ones who really love you Walk up and down outside the wall Some hand in hand And some gathered together in bands The bleeding hearts and artists Make their stand And when they've given you their all Some stagger and fall After all it's not easy Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall.

Following creative tensions, Wright left Pink Floyd in 1979, followed by Waters in 1985.
