While not quite a follow-up proper to Errors' third album Have Some Faith in Magic, released in March 2012, New Relics packs enough into its eight tracks to warrant investigation from both established followers and newcomers. This set finds the Glasgow oes-electro trio in a fairly introspective mood. Rarely do its beats-per-minute prod the pulse upwards, but neither does it wallow in the type of ambience that leads to forgettable listening experiences.

New Relics’ mixes the present day, future and past in its tracks so it’s difficult to get bored listening to it. The standout tracks on the album are ‘Ammaboa Glass’, ‘Relics’ and ‘Hemlock’; each of them showing a unique side to the album that makes it sharp, catchy and unique. Thrifty, perhaps-hey, these are austere times!-but Errors' evocation of eighties pop, tricked out with post-rock structures, is fresh and exciting. 70. It's certainly fresh but, lamentably, it fails to rival the progression seen on previous releases that grabbed the listener's attention.
