Evelyn "Champagne" King's alliance with producer/songwriter T. Life continued in 1980 with her third album, Call on Me which is the third album released on the RCA label, in 1980. It was produced by Theodore Life and George Tindley. The album peaked at on the R&B albums chart. Other songs of merit include the three beautiful ballads, "Your Kind of Loving," "I Need Your Love" and "Just A Little Bit Of Love" along with the funky, storytelling bliss of "Talk Don't Hurt Nobody. On the raw, gritty and soulful title cut, producer, T. Life, steps in to duet with King and both voices compliment one another in song as well as on the telephone in a cute little skit which appears midway through the song. Though originally entitled "Sweet Delight," the album was released to the public and recalled very quickly by RCA.

Evelyn King’s story is one that bears repeating. In true rags-to-riches Hollywood style, she was discovered by producer Theodore Life singing as she cleaned Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia. He signed the 17-year-old there and then. King broke through in 1978 with her disco classic, Shame, and its parent record Smooth Talk. After embracing the video age with I’m in Love, King was very much the dance star of the early MTV era, and her zestful, emotion-charged performances proved her talent. Get Loose is her best album, with its eight snappy pop-dance numbers built around nagging, infectious keyboard riffs. Although RCA took her ‘Champagne’ nickname away for this grown-up album, it is still wholly appropriate as she positively bursts forth on every track, full of bubbles and froth.

King was a sensation in disco's heyday, and she survived the backlash and prospered during the genre's evolution into dance music. She enjoyed a string of hits into the mid-'80s and was able to excel on rhythm-dominated material and sentimental ballads.
