Through Children's Eyes" (subtitled "Little-Folk Songs For Adults") was originally released in 1962, and the combination of the Limeliters and the children from the elementary schools around Berkeley couldn't have turned out better. The Limeliters were always great to hear live, but this concert, and the recording of it, takes things to a different level. The concert took place on December 29th, 1961. This was the group's fifth album and features the original Limeliters, who are Alex Hassilev, Lou Gottlieb, and Glenn Yarbrough. Glenn would leave the group the following year and four albums later, and the group carried on with Ernie Sheldon until they broke up in 1965. The group reunited several times, and there is still a Limeliters, though none of the original members are still in the group, and sadly Lou Gottlieb passed away in 1996.

This song is by The Limeliters and appears on the album Through Children's Eyes (1962). Twas in eighteen hundred and fifty threeAnd of June the thirteenth dayThat our gallant ship her anchor weighedAnd for Greenland sailed away, brave boysAnd for Greenland sailed away. The lookout in the crosstrees stoodWith his spyglass in his hand"There's a whale, there's a whale, there's a whale fish" he criedAnd she blows at every span, brave boysAnd she blows at every span.
