George Jones was an American country music singer-songwriter who released many successful albums from the 1960s through the 80's. Though his most notable work was his releases on singles, there is much to appreciate about Jones in his many album releases. Oftentimes, Jones was called the Greatest Living Country Singer, and has inspired many artists in not only country music's scope.
Even the dated material like the novelties and crossovers are enjoyable, but Jones is at his best when he's singing honky tonk or country-pop.

Over the years, the Texas-born singer collaborated with Willie Nelson ("I Gotta Get Drunk"), Merle Haggard (". Waterback") and Patty Loveless ("You Don't Seem to Miss Me"). His voice adds magic to any song. After more discussion, he discovers the old man is actually talking about the brunette woman in the passenger seat. Jones' baritone delivery of "hotter than a two dollar pistol" is just another reminder of why he's the greatest of all time. The song was a staple of the Possum's live shows. 9.
