As police discovered the bodies of the victims, their corpses showed signs of violent sexual assault with the trademark of the serial killer being death by strangulation and stabbing. Unlike most serial killers of the era, he had accomplices. These accomplices helped the Freeway Killer with the physical act of the murder between Los Angeles County and Orange County.
