Never hitting the heights like their contemporaries Jesus Jones or other Happy Valley bands,they left the business frustrated by a lack of success. They had a highly individual sound,always with the same voice,and a great sense of melodic invention. The name came from a Strawberry Alarm Clock lyric,information divulged by them to a French interviewer.

Their debut album released in 1983 was called 'Murmur', and have since then put out 14 more albums. SESSIONS: Frames (on 28th August 1992) The Frames are an Irish band based in Dublin and founded in 1990 by Glen Hansard. The name 'The Frames' arose from Hansard's habit of fixing the bicycles of his friends. The large number of bicycle frames lying around his house led neighbours to dub it the "house with the frames". In 2007 The Frames toured Australia and New Zealand as the support act for Bob Dylan. They have released 10 albums to date. They released three albums; 'Tell Em We're Surfin'(1989), 'Furthest From The Sun'(1992) and 'Magic Happens'(1995). The singer Paul Frederick now plays with the band Jack Adaptor.
