Eyeless In Gaza released their first album, Photographs As Memories, for Cherry Red in 1981. From this point the synth/ singing duo of Martyn Bates and Peter Becker expanded and contracted like a fine set of lungs over several albums, before arriving at the studio in 1996 to record this one. Many Gaza fans hail this as their best, as it combines pliant arrangements with a sound that navigates Talk Talk, Japan with shorter haircuts, or the cowl-intensity of No Man. Formed in 1980, the group went into hiatus in 1987 as Martyn Bates pursued a number of solo projects and collaborations, re-emerging in 1993.
