I first heard Tom Jans in the mid-1970s, digging the albums "The Eyes of an Only Child" and "Dark Blonde. Consistently good tunes that fit comfortably into the singer-songwriter mode of that era. I later heard his self-titled album, which I had assumed was his first, only to find out later that he had recorded an album with Mimi Farina in 1971. I never did hear that album, at least not until I bought this 2-for-1 CD reissue with "Take Heart" (the album with Mimi Farina) and the self-titled Tom Jans album packaged together.
