Bloodline was an American blues-rock band from New York City, New York. Formed in 1991, the group originally featured vocalist Aaron Hagar, lead guitarist "Smokin' Joe" Bonamassa, rhythm guitarist Waylon Krieger, bassist Berry Oakley, J. drummer Erin Davis and keyboardist Lou Segreti. After Hagar was fired due to creative differences, Oakley took over as lead vocalist and the group began recording demos for a planned studio album with producer Phil Ramone

Bloodline is the third studio album by Recoil, released April 14, 1992. It was recorded at Konk Studio, in London, during sessions that lasted from January to March 1991, being mixed late that same year. The album was produced by Alan Wilder, engineered by Steve Lyon, and assisted by Dave Eringa. Bloodline was Alan Wilder's third Recoil release.

Trying to find Bloodline was a daunting task but now I own. The cd is what I expected from some brash 18 year old guys and I mean that in a good sense. If you're a fan of Joe Bonamassa, this album is a fine display of his rock roots. While a fine demonstration of competent playing with cohorts Berry Oakley Jr, Waylon Krieger, Erin Davis and Warren Hayes, the material at times is a little cheesy. Having said that, the album still holds its place in my JB collection and demonstrates the formative years that led ultimately to the powerhouse playing that Joe delivers in Black Country Communion.
