Aphrodite is the eleventh studio album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, released on 5 July 2010 by Parlophone. Beginning in early 2009, the singer met with British singer-songwriter Nerina Pallot to begin recording sessions for a new album. Although successful at first, the sessions later became unproductive; Minogue then began working with British electronic music producer Stuart Price, who became the executive producer of the album

Considered to be one of her finest albums to date, also a fan favourite, Aphrodite is seen as one of her best works alongside Impossible Princess. Commercially, it was a success. In Australia, it peaked at number two on the Australian Albums chart, and was later certified platinum. Aphrodite was the fourth studio album, and fifth overall, by Kylie to peak atop the UK albums chart and made her the first solo artist to have a number one album in four different decades in the region, achieving this in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. Showcasing Kylie at her bossiest in some time, Aphrodite explodes with a militant, foot-stomping beat and a searing bolt of fiery energy: I’m fierce and I’m feeling mighty, Don’t you mess with me, you don’t want to fight me! she warns throughout the song’s storming chorus. Judging by the fact that both this song and Get Out Of My Way double as the album’s strongest selections, it’s safe to say Kylie wears her sass well. This isn’t just an incredible album, or even an album of the year (although it most certainly qualifies to win the title for both).
