Yes Lawd! is the debut studio album by American neo soul duo NxWorries, which consists of vocalist Anderson. Paak and producer Knxwledge. It was released on October 21, 2016, by Stones Throw Records. On June 19, 2016, member Anderson. Paak confirmed that NxWorries' debut studio album is finished and set for release.
YES LAWD! As temping as it may be to just let that exclamation suffice as your sole introduction to NxWorries, we should go a little deeper. The men at the heart of this LP - soul styler Anderson. Paak and loop beast Knxwledge - make an exceedingly clean pair, even as they deal almost entirely in the gritty: vocals that sound lived in for a couple of lifetimes; beats that kick up dust as they bump; and an 18-track set that plays like a mixtape merging skits, songs, and snippets. Paak – who calls the album my best work – plays theatrically brash version of himself who sings like a '70s superstar and talks shit like a stone cold player.
Yes Lawd! is another accomplishment in Anderson. Paak’s continued rise, a beautiful beat tape made with the producer Knxwledge that nods to classic Stones Throw duos. But the record, which includes tracks recorded between early 2015 and March 2016, is first and foremost a beat tape, stacked with beautiful little donuts, most of which don’t pass the three-minute mark. Knx was raised on church music, hip-hop radio, and J Dilla, and the rich instrumentals here are loaded with tributes to all three.
Dr. Dre then sought Paak for extensive work on Compton, while the rising Knxwledge produced "Momma" on To Pimp a Butterfly and released a Stones Throw album. As Paak and Knxwledge sustained their prominence with separate collaborative and solo work, their activity as a unit gradually escalated to this full-length, released during the fourth quarter of 2016.
Released October 21, 2016. Yes Lawd! is the first LP from the dynamic duo that is NxWorries. Smooth singer/rapper Anderson. Paak and upcoming record producer Knxwledge make a soulful combination. The project was announced on September 19th 2016, and was released a week earlier than expected on October 14th. It includes 19 tracks, only one of which is purely an instrumental.
2 official releases under his belt now? that combined w the fact that dude is incredibly charismatic and seems super grateful. YES LAWD!!! Paak is a beast. Listened thru a couple times I fuck with it.
Yes Lawd!’ is actually released under the name NxWorries (pronounced no worries ) and is a collaboration between. Paak and Philadelphia producer Knxwledge, who’s best known for his jazzy, old-school sound and work on the track ‘Momma’ from Kendrick Lamar’s ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’. Yet there’s no ‘Heart Don’t Stand A Chance’ here. There’s no classic, stop-everything track to grab to you by the heartstrings.
